According to the press release available on the website, 7,52,007 candidates appeared for UGC NET June 2025. Out of this, only 5,269 candidates have qualified for both JRF and Assistant Professor. Along with it, 54,885 qualified as assistant professor and admission to Ph.D. And lastly, 1,28,179 candidates qualified only for Ph.D. There has been an increase in passing candidature in UGC NET 2025.

UGC NET June Result date 2025  

UGC NET June Result 2025 was announced on 22nd July 2025. Candidates were previously given provisional answer key(s) and question paper with recorded responses inviting challenges on 5th July 2025. The objection window was opened from 6th July to 8th July 2025. Appearing candidates had the chance to challenge a question or send in their questions for a recheck.

UGC NET June Result is released in two parts. Firstly, a merit list is released on the official website of NTA. It is available to everyone. Secondly, an individual marksheet or results are released on the portal for those who appeared for the examination. 

A lot of changes were seen in this year’s UGC NET June exam, including the last-minute revised dates. The exam was originally scheduled for 21-29 June 2025, but NTA shifted it to 25-29 June 2025. Along with that, emphasis on teaching/ publishing in Indian Languages is given due to the NEP2020. Industry professionals including PSUs and Public Administration are now eligible for teaching roles. In addition to that, there has been NET exemption for PhD holders (with 75% in UG+ 55% in PG) and M.Tech/M.E. graduates can now directly apply for the role of Assistant Professors. 

This year for UGC NET June Exam, more than 7 lakh students appeared in 2025. This number is higher than last year’s UGC NET December Exam 2024 wherein 6 lakh students appeared for the same.

UGC NET Cutoff 2025
