What is FMGE Exam?
FMGE full form is Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FGME). FMGE meaning is a licensing exam held by National Board of Examinations (NBE) under the supervision of the Medical Council of India (MCI). Any Indian Citizen or Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) who has completed their primary medical qualification from an institution outside of India but wants to practice medicine in India, needs to clear this entrance exam to register with National Medical Commission/ State Medical Council.
It should also be noted that NBE FMGE is not an entrance exam and therefore should not be tied to get admission to any university. It is a licensing exam for foreign medical graduates. MCI FMGE is held twice a year- June and December. Hence, if someone cannot clear the June session, they can re-appear in the December exam.
