Basically, a lawyer is an individual who has completed a law degree from a recognized institute. They can offer legal advice and solutions, but it is not mandatory that they appear and represent the clients in court. While on the other hand, an advocate is the person who is duly qualified and enrolled with the Bar Council of India under the advocates act,1961. An advocate is duly and legally authorized to practice in court and represent clients in court. Thus, it can be said all advocates are lawyers, but all lawyers are not advocates.
