The full form of PhD is Doctor of Philosophy. PhD is a doctorate degree which focuses on extensive research work and shedding light on new theories and research that could help change the world. A PhD program is of 3-years at minimum, but it can be extended to a maximum of 5-years, depending on the universities. Some of the universities also charge a fine if the degree cannot be completed in the given time frame.
