PhD in Agriculture is a doctoral degree that spans 3-6 years while the research includes crop science, soil science, genetics, agricultural economics and much more. One needs to have a master’s degree with 55% or above marks and entrance exams including ICAR-AICE-JRF, UGC NET, etc. PhD are usually funded or provide scholarships like ICAR Fellowships, UGC NET, CSIR, etc. University stipends are also provided to the researchers in some places. It builds a career which is related to Academia, Government or Industry Sector and sometimes even going International.
