Final dates appear on snap.org when SNAP posts its 2026 notice online. Updates come straight from the source without delay

Here’s something to keep in mind: though SNAP sign-ups stay open through November every year, several well-liked Symbiosis schools offer exams in only a few locations, with just a handful of spots per course – so getting your name down sooner tends to work out better.

SNAP 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before anything else, check you qualify:

. Graduation in any stream from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD)
. Final-year students appearing in graduation can apply
. No age limit working professionals can apply too
. International students need a certificate of equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

One thing that catches students off guard: SNAP registration alone is not enough for SIU admission. You must also register separately for each Symbiosis MBA program you want to apply to, paying an extra ₹1,000 per program. If you skip this step, you won’t be considered shortlisting at that institute even with a great SNAP score.

SNAP 2026 Application Fee

. SNAP Exam Registration: ₹2,250 per test attempt
. Additional Program Registration: ₹1,000 per Symbiosis institute

So, if you plan to attempt SNAP twice and apply to three Symbiosis programs, the total cost is ₹2,250 × 2 + ₹1,000 × 3 = ₹7,500. Plan this budget before you sit down to fill out the form.

SNAP fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. If you pay and then realize you entered the wrong details, or you decide not to appear that money does not come back.

How to Register for SNAP 2026: Step by Step

Visit snaptest.org to sign up for SNAP 2026 – everything happens online. Here’s what you do next:

Step 1: Start by making an account. Head over to snaptest.org, then find the sign-up option. Put in your full name, email address, one contact number – that sets up access. A code arrives by message to confirm it’s you.

Step 2: After logging in, start filling out the form. Put personal data along with study history, gender, plus category. Go over each detail again – name, birth date, category – before heading further.

Step 3: Select your test attempts. You can appear for one, two, or all three SNAP tests. Most serious candidates appear for at least two. Choose your preferred test cities — up to three cities can be selected. Note: the test center for each attempt may be in different cities based on availability.

Step 4: Select the MBA program. Choose the Symbiosis institutes and program you want to apply to. This is separate from the SNAP exam fee. Each program selection costs ₹1,000.

Step 5: Upload documents. Passport-size photo and scanned signature. In JPEG/PNG format.

Step 6: Pay and submit. Pay via Bill desk or Indian Bank Payment Gateway — debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. After payment, download and print the confirmation page.

Common SNAP Registration Mistakes — How to Avoid Them

This is the most important part of this guide. These are real errors that students make every year during SNAP form filling. Most of them cannot be corrected after final submission.

1. Name entered differently from ID proof: Your name on the SNAP application must match your Class 10 certificate and photo ID exactly. Even a small difference — “Priya” vs “Priya Sharma”, or a middle name missing — can cause problems at the admit card stage and at the exam center. Type it as it appears on your board certificate.

2. Wrong category selection: If you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) and accidentally select “General,” you lose any eligibility for category-based cutoff relaxation. The reverse — selecting a reserved category when you’re not — can lead to disqualification during document verification. Check this box twice.

3. Incorrect email ID or mobile number: Your SNAP login credentials are tied to this email. All communications — admit card alerts, test updates, results — go to this address. If you enter it wrong and can’t access the email, you’re locked out of your own application.

4. Wrong photo upload: Picture mismatched. SNAP rules ask for a fresh, sharp headshot for the size of a passport, saved as JPEG or PNG. Often people slip by sending selfies, picking images with tinted backdrops rather than pure white, sometimes even loading files too bulky to process. When visuals fall short of standards, submissions tend to bounce back. Review dimensions and type prior to attaching.

5. SNAP signature upload error: The signature should be on plain white paper with a black or blue pen, scanned cleanly. Students often upload a digital signature or a messy scan that gets flagged. Sign on paper first, scan it neatly, then upload it.

6. Selecting only one test city: You can choose up to three preferred test cities for SNAP test city selection. Students who select only one city and that city has no available slots end up getting assigned somewhere far. Pick three cities in order of preference.

7. Not saving login credentials: After creating your SNAP account, save your application number, email, and password somewhere safe. Forgot password options work fine, but students who lose access to their registered email are in trouble. Use an email ID you check regularly and can access long-term.

SNAP Exam Pattern 2026

SNAP is a 60-minute computer-based test with 60 questions across three sections.

SectionQuestionsMarks
General English1515
Quantitative, DI & Data Sufficiency2020
Analytical & Logical Reasoning2525
Total6060

Grading Scale: Correct = +1; Incorrect = -0.25. There is a total of 60 minutes available to complete all sections.

In 2017, SNAP moved to an on-line (computer based) test and retained its original format, which includes 60 questions within a 60-minute time frame. With one exception, there have been no reading comprehension sections included in the SNAP since it was last revised. The logical reasoning section will weigh heavily when determining your score as many students gain/loss points in this section.

SNAP is not a CAT Replacement — it’s a different exam with a different target. If Symbiosis institutes are on your list (SIBM Pune, SCMHRD Pune, SIIB Pune, SIBM Bangalore are the top ones), you need to appear for SNAP regardless of your CAT score. SIU does not accept CAT or XAT scores.

SNAP 2026 Preparation Tips

A lot of people say that the SNAP Test isn’t long – it’s fast. That’s true, but you get penalized for being slow and careless as well as for being wrong. So, what does it work?

First, when practicing for SNAP, use a timer. Since there are 60 questions and negative scoring applies, do not waste too much time on any single problem. Each Mock Test (you will have several) needs to be taken under the same timed conditions as the actual test. Unless you’ve taken timed tests before, taking an entire Mock Test won’t feel anything like how you study normally.

Logical Reasoning is where most students either win or lose the battle. There are 25 Logical Reasoning Types of Problems. In this category, common types of puzzles include blood relations, coding/decoding, number sequences, syllogisms, and puzzles based upon order (e.g., putting things in alphabetical or chronological order).

For English, things stay pretty straightforward. This part checks simple grammar along with word knowledge. Sentence gaps show up often; matching words by meaning pops in too. Reading passages appear – just not deeply analyzed like elsewhere. Heavy focus on long texts? Not needed here. Better use hours building word power plus reviewing core grammar points instead.

The math section (Quant) is all about Class X-XII math. Examples of typical types of problems include percentages; ratios; profits and losses; time/speed/distance; basic Algebra. It’s not going to be as difficult as the JEE level. Anyone who has spent the last year or two preparing for the Common Admission Test (CAT) will find SNAP Quant very simple compared to what they’re used to.

In addition to helping our students prepare for the SNAP Test, we at Aimlay often help them create strategies around their MBA applications, because even though a student may know exactly which college(s) he/she wants to apply to for graduate school, few of these students understand the profiles of the individual colleges, and therefore, whether or not the student fits the specific profile(s) of those colleges
