Traditional PhD used to focus itself on pure academic research with an outcome of becoming a professor. The disciplines in Traditional PhDs were limited to only some fields and Arts was not a part of it. Publishing scholarly was not considered crucial. Research was confined only to libraries, labs and individual works. But, with the shift in time, modern research was slowly emerging to reach the realms of modernity.
Modern PhD is an amalgamation of research, coursework, lab work, and a lot more. The Modern PhD focuses on original research work and answers the questions that are unanswered or if there are any research gaps throughout the years. Modern Doctor of Philosophy also introduces itself with the interdisciplinary approach wherein one discipline can collaborate with another to bring out new innovations that haven’t been approached before.
With the introduction of Modern PhD, researchers can now pursue coursework before pursuing their thesis and research work. Publishing and Conferencing which was not possible before can now be published. Instead, instead works as an essential for visibility and academic recognition by attending the conferences and publishing the research papers. With the changes in PhD, one now has access to a more dynamic, tech-driven, globally connected and industrially relevant degree to provide abundant career opportunities.
