. NEET or National eligibility cum entrance test, which was previously known as All India Pre Medical Test, is one of the most important exams for aspiring doctors, suregons and cardiologists. It is a national level entrance exam which is conducted by NTA or National testing agency for admission in undergraduate medical programs in various government and private institutes of India.

. NEET exam registration is expected to start in the month of February. As per the previous year trends, NTA NEET exam registrations starts from February 2026.

Steps To Complete NEET UG Registration Details 2026

. Complete the registration form with the basic personal details
. An application number will be generated on registered mail id and phone number
. By using the application number and password login on the page
. Completely fill the application form with all the basic and mandatory details such as Qualification, personal details, Scanned copies of photograph and signature

NEET UG 2026: Eligibility Criteria

As per previous year, the eligibility criteria have changed. Previous year NTA specified some eligibility criteria in terms of schooling and subjects. Students who have study biology as additional subject with physics, chemistry, biology and English were eligible to give the exam. Previously, Candidates who have completed higher secondary education from distance mode or open learning were not eligible for NEET exam. But from 2026 onwards, Open learning students are also eligible to take NEET UG exam.

. Candidates must be 17 years of age at time of admission by Dec 2026. There is no restriction on maximum age criteria.
. Candidate should get pass the higher secondary with Physics, chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50 %. while 5% relaxation for SC/ST.

NEET UG 2026: Syllabus

. NTA has officially released the UG 2026 Syllabus which is approved by the Ministry of health and family welfare and Ministry of Education. NTA NEET syllabus has been updated on the official website and NTA NEET portal. The PDF of NEET UG 2026 syllabus is available on the NTA NEET website.

. The exam is expected to take place in the month of May 2026. The syllabus is similar to that of Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus and most of the topics are from NCERTs only. Students should thoroughly follow class 11 and 12 NCERT for each important chapter of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology and botany).

. NTA UG 2026 syllabus is divided into 4 important sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Zoology and botany).  All these sections hold equal weightage, and there are 180 compulsory questions (45 questions from Physics and chemistry and 90 questions from Biology).

. These questions have to be attempted by the candidate in 3 hours or 180 minutes.

NEET UG 2026 exam is scheduled to be on the 1st Sunday of May, i.e. 4th May 2026(expected).

NEET UG 2026: Exam Pattern

NEET exam is scheduled in the month of May 2026 so students should be updated with updated exam patterns and important subjects. NTA has changed the NEET UG 2026 exam pattern. The new pattern will not have any Section B. Optional questions and extra timings facility will also be removed. The duration of the exam is 3 hours with 180 mandatory questions.

NTA NEET exam timings are 2.00pm to 5.00 pm and NTA conduct NEET exam in Pen paper mode in a single day and single shift.

. The NEET UG Admit card 2026 is expected to be released by 1st  May 2026 (tentative). The admit card will be available in online mode on the official website https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/ .

. It is the most important document to be saved by a candidate and to be carried to the NEET exam center, without it the security staff and other authority will not allow a candidate to take the exam.

. NEET UG admit card 2026 contains important information about personal details, exam date and time, exam center and location, roll number and exam day instructions. Admit card 2026 is issued to only those candidates who have successfully completed the registration form 2026.

. In case of discrepancy, it should be immediately informed to the NEET-NTA, National testing agency. NTA also releases advance intimation city slip before releasing the admit card. The city slip contains information about the city center.
