PhD in Data Science in India – Eligibility, Admission, and Career Scope

Data Science is a multidisciplinary field that uses scientific methods, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data. PhD in Data Science is a doctoral degree with a time frame of 2-6 years focusing not only on theoretical as well as real-world problems.  

To be eligible for a PhD in Data Science, an individual should have a master’s degree with an aggregate of 55% or above from a recognized university. Along with that, an individual must appear for an entrance exam including JEST, UGC NET, GATE, etc.  

The admission process to PhD is simple. The first step is to apply and fill in the application form for universities. The next step is to appear for the entrance exam and personal interview. An individual should be prepared from at least six months before. Universities often ask for a research proposal in the interview, so it is helpful to prepare beforehand. With the final selection, you will be called physically for document verification and fee payment.
