BCA Admission Process

BCA admission can be done with either merit-based or entrance test. Each institution has its own way of doing it.

• Merit-Based Admission: many private colleges as well as government institutions grant admission to students directly based upon their Class 12 marks. A student completes an online application on the college’s official website. Once the application is completed, a student pays a fee to complete their registration. After completing this step, the applicant waits until they receive the merit list.

• Entrance test admission: universities that are central/state provide admission to students based upon how many points they scored on a university level entrance test/central level entrance test.

The general process:

• Complete the necessary registration for the appropriate entrance exam.
• Attend the exam when it takes place.
• Once results have been posted Download your score card.
• Take part in counseling, which will be based on your rank.
• Pay the required fee to secure your seat.

Management quota/direct admission: several private colleges reserve a certain number of seats for direct admissions into BCA programs under management quota. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for the BCA program and pay applicable fees.

Typically, application windows open between March –June for most colleges. Have all required documents ready before applying (class 12 marksheets, id proof, category certificate if any).
